Start a professional community

A professional community is a group of individuals who share common interests. The aim is to support continuing professional development. The community space is a place where members of the community can exchange ideas, share experiences, collaborate on projects, and support each other. The community can be as small or as big as you want it to be. For example, you can involve teachers in your department, in your school, in your region, or in your country. You can aim your community at specific sectors, eg, primary, middle school, secondary etc, or you can incorporate as many sectors as you wish. Ideas of what you can include in your community pages are:

  • Information about your school
  • Teaching tips and techniques
  • Careers advice
  • Resources
  • Updating knowledge and skills
  • Classroom action research
  • Mentoring
  • Help
  • Events calendar
  • Learning opportunities
  • Blog
  • Teaching ideas
  • New publications
  • Teacher stories
